Are Those See-Through Cameras for Real?
The answer to the question in the title is sort of. There are cameras and apps available that can see through some clothes. This is a band of infrared radiation that allows you to see through certain materials, a lot like the airport security scanners do. These IR cameras and apps do not see through all materials, but with the right settings, they can see through some including some (but not all) plastics.
There are not cameras available to the public that can see through walls. Do government or spy agencies have equipment like this? Maybe. If they do, they are not telling us about it. But you cannot easily or inexpensively buy equipment like this. Even heat-seeking devices or cameras cannot “see” through all building materials.
Heat-seeking devices or night-vision devices or cameras are also using infrared technology to see things that are not readily discernable to the naked eye. These devices, however, are not going to give you a crisp, color, in-focus image.
This type of technology is rapidly improving. In the near future, it may be possible to really see through all kinds of barriers. For security or “spy” purposes, hidden or motion-activated cameras are much more useful, and these are readily available for both inside and outside use. These types of cameras can be hard wired or they can operate using WIFI—each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. One does not need to see through clothes to detect if someone is breaking into your house, so the need for and use of see-through cameras for clothes is limited.
