The latest technology is used in modern espionage, just as technology has permeated every other aspect of our lives. Some tools and new technology used in espionage, we probably know nothing about. Drones

Drones are everywhere, and they are more and more adept at capturing high resolution photos. It is very likely that drones are being operated remotely to capture images that would be hard to get otherwise. The great advantages of drones are that they can be operated from far away, and that they are agile little pieces of machinery that can fly into and around small spaces.

Audio and Video

Aside from drones, there is no doubt that cameras and recording devices are getting smaller and smaller. They can be hidden in rooms or worn on people without others having any clue. These cameras might be taking video or stills, and audio may or may not be recorded. Audio and video can also be operated remotely, sometimes from very far away.

Biometric Surveillance

We all know from television about facial recognition software. However, there are great advances in biometric software which allow for recognizing the irises in someone’s eyes, a person’s gait pattern, and fingerprints, with increasing speed.

We probably only know a small fraction of how modern technology is used in spyware, but be aware that those involved in espionage are taking full advantage of any and all advances in technology.
